We’re all set for The Jingle Bell Bazaar on Saturday, November 19th! There will be a lot more information coming, but for now, two things:
• We’re looking for someone (or a team) to organize the Bake Sale Table. That involves getting the word out to all bakers, organizing the drop-off, packaging and pricing, and coordinating volunteers to work the table at the event. Please let Rev. Steve or Lisa know if you can help in this way.
• Please start thinking about what you’ve got to contribute to the Bazaar: Christmas-themed treasures and trinkets, decorations, lights, (etc), second-hand books, or small gift-like items; things for a silent auction/raffle; baking; jams, pickles, or preserves; other crafts; or…
We’ll be in touch with everyone who has so generously volunteered to help to coordinate more plans. Talk soon!
A NEW FOOD COLLECTION BIN
ON THE OCCASION OF WORLD FOOD DAY
Mafety Magas has built a beautiful new wooden container for all of our food donations at Lakeshore Trinity. You’ll find it just next to the sanctuary door, ready to receive your contributions. Thanks, Maf!
Watch the cork board above the donation box for information on the organizations supported by our donations.
Sunday, October 16, is the United Nations World Food Day.
“We need to build a sustainable world where everyone, everywhere has regular access to enough nutritious food. No one should be left behind.”

A TRUE MESSAGE BOARD
Reverend Steve and our church secretary, Lisa O’Brien, have been putting together the lovely and thought-provoking message board in the church hallway. As we gather for coffee and conversation after the service, it reminds and inspires us to go forth and be the church.
Our thanks, Rev. Steve and Lisa!
A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH ON AURORA
This drawing of the church was done by Father Toby McGivern, who is largely responsible for the look of the chancel here at Lakeshore Trinity. Father Toby was the priest at St. Edward the Confessor during the late 1980’s when Reverend Frank Giffen was the minister of St. John’s. By that time, the two congregations had been sharing a worship space for some years, and the relationship was well established. Father Toby was also an architect. He and Reverend Frank worked together on a plan to renovate the chancel, to make the space larger and more suitable for use by both congregations. There were consultations on all sides, Father Toby drew up the plans, and church members pitched in to do the work.
There are a few of Toby’s other delightful drawings still around the church. Next time you are in the South Wing children’s area, look for the large and whimsical wall painting of Noah’s Ark.
