SAD NEWS FROM ST. EDWARD

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death on Friday, November 22nd, of Helen Foley, of St. Edward the Confessor Mission. Helen and her husband, Deacon Gerald Foley, have long been dear friends to St. John’s and to Lakeshore Trinity, and we mourn her loss. There will be a funeral mass for Helen at the church this Saturday, November 30, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the South Wing.

DECK THE HALLS UPDATE:

Because of the funeral mass for Helen Foley on Saturday, November 30, we will postpone decorating the sanctuary until 1:30 p.m.

Bring a dessert to share, and enjoy a time of fellowship as we anticipate the season of advent. Suggested donation: $5.

CHRISTMAS OFFERING UPDATE

Special Christmas Offerings will be divided among Saint Columba House, Montreal City Mission, West Island Mission, Dorval Community Aid and On Rock Community Services.

This year Saint Columba House has requested $25 gift cards to Super C or Maxi in lieu of cash. Saint Columba’s share of donations received will be used to purchase these gift cards.

Christmas Offering envelopes are now available in the pews. Please return your envelopes to the church by December 8.

Christmas is not always a happy time, especially for those who have lost loved ones. Trinity United Church in Montreal is holding their annual Blue Christmas service on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join, in person (3050 Blvd. Rosemont, Montreal, H1Y1M2), via zoom, or YouTube Live.
