HOT POTATO LUNCH: THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 21ST
Let the wind and snow bluster away outside! Bring out your kilts and sporrans and plaids, and stay after the service on Sunday for a warm and toasty Burns Day lunch. Hot potatoes with lots of varied toppings will be followed by desserts from our superb LTUC bakers. And you won’t want to miss the haggis, duly addressed by our own Jack Fraser. We hear that he has been practising!
Please feel free to bring a favourite dessert to share.
Suggested donation: $5.00

CONFIRMATION
Most of us are baptized when we’re babies. At that time our parents made a faith statement on our behalf. Confirmation is an opportunity for us, as young adults, to confirm those vows and make our faith statement ourselves. Are you ready?

If you are in high school and are interested in being confirmed this year, please contact Rev. Steve (email macduffsdad@hotmail.com). We’re looking at a ceremony on Palm Sunday, March 24th. We will meet 3 times as a group before then. Spread the word to members of your family!
Rev. Steve

CURTAINS! LIGHTS! IT’S PLAY TIME!
The murder mystery dinner show fundraiser was a long and treasured tradition at Dorval-Strathmore United. Now, after a four year break (because of, well, you know…) it is back! We will be presenting a new show, here at Lakeshore Trinity, this spring, April 6, 13, 20 & 27.
knights
“A Dark and Stormy Knight”, written and directed by Steve Gillam, takes us on a medieval adventure. King Arnold of Camelhump invites you to a celebration honouring the recent victory of his knights of the brown table. The cast includes Mark Watson, Charyl Hyndman, Nolan McRobbie, Rev. Steve, and 6 other actors well-known to the West Island audience. The box office will open soon, and more information will be coming… but for now, please mark the dates on your calendar, and consider how you might help this big and important fundraiser. Here are some ways you can help:

Sewing. Either creating a costume from a pattern or helping with smaller alterations. Speak to Steve.
Box office assistant. Helping to sell tickets on Sunday mornings to both St. Edwards and LTUC. Speak to Lisa at the church office.
Kitchen Crew. We will be preparing and serving a 3 course meal. We need people who can help prep before each night (on Friday), or work during the day of each Saturday show, or that evening during the show. Speak to the team managers, Fiona, Jane, and Pam.

We will also be looking for people who can help set-up on Fridays (tables, chairs, place settings), and help clean-up the kitchen after each show Saturday night. And of course we’ll be looking for people who can serve in the dining hall. More details soon. Speak to your family; pass the word and help us find helpers. Thanks.

VALENTINES CONCERT: FEBRUARY 3RD
Maryna Krejcarova invites us to a Valentines concert Saturday, February 3rd, 4:00 P.M. here at Lakeshore Trinity. Proceeds will help Maryna’s continuing efforts to support Ukrainian refugees arriving in Canada. Tickets will be available after church on January 28th and at the door.

FOOD COLLECTIONS
Doris McConnell reminds us that the food banks struggle to keep up with demand during these cold months. Your faithful support of our food collections is greatly appreciated. The next collection will be taken to On Rock.
